Default Fire on the River with 8 High?

The flop bet felt like either a draw of a steal.

Those small flop bets also can mean "crappy pocket pair" or "Top pair, nonexistant kicker"

I dont understand, You did not hit the flop. Why continue with the hand. You dont really want to bully a short stack, they will probably go all the way with a draw. Since you dont have anything you cant really make a play here. They always say dont bully the small or big stack, aim of the med stacks.

he's calling with his ace. especially when he hits it on the turn. If he folds air, not raising this flop bet is criminal or a sign you've given up on the hand.

By not folding the flop you just cost your self 1000 chips for no reason. SPEWY, very spewy. Give up the pot! Its useless.

My thought Process:

I'm getting 10-1 odds on the flop to make the call. The turn A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] gives me a chance to represent the Ace and also semi-bluff the heart draw.

Villain had JT

Looking at the chip stacks it looks pretty early...don't bluff early in a 4.40 tourny cause you'll get looked up alot. Wait for your strong hands and bet bet bet. There are plenty of fish in the sea in those things, so play a tight game until you get good reads.
