I remember Gavin Smith talking on Pokerwire radio about teaching at the WPT boot camp.

According to Gavin, Clonie Gowen was one of the instructors, and told the students that in early position at a full table, she plays AA,KK,AK,QQ and maybe JJ depending on the table.

Really glad I didnt pay good money for that kind of teaching...

He did a tip segment on the NPL TV show - wasn't bad. Only seen on Hi-Def Cable on INHD. http://www.nplworldpoker.com/
This years taping at the Venetian should be more widely disseminated.

Barry just made the best comment...

In response to Bart's question about Barry teaching at a WPT or WSOP bootcamp, Barry said "In all honesty, they couldn't afford to pay me what I'm worth, and in addition I would probably get into arguments with the other instructors because most of the people who teach at these camps don't know how to play poker".

I found the answer to be so honest and genuine and ask who has attended any of these camps and are the instructors pretty bad?

Who are some potenital instructors that would make it worth attending a seminar?

Definitely awesome.
In the 2005 WCOOP main-event I listened to him and Raymer on the commentary until 5 or 6am just because they were so freaking good and the conversation was so interesting.
I didn't care at all who won the event. But the topics they were talking about and the intelligent way they were discussing them were great.

They really don't get to talk TOO much about the play of the hands and the personalities at the table. A lot of the play never gets to showdown anyway so there's even less that they can analyze. So it ends up being a pretty long interview about a variety of poker topics not related to the tournament.

Whenever Greenstein or Raymer are on I recommend checking it out. If they are both on at the same time it can be pure gold.

It'd be awesome to listen to barry talk about poker at some of these camps. It's mind boggling some of the camps and other products out there that are just gouging people.

In all liklihood, though, the average 2p2er isn't going to get anything out of these big name camps. These things are setup for novice poker players to learn from some of the big names in poker, but it is my impression that most of the "value" in these camps lie in being able to say "I got to meet X, Y, Z, poker players."

I'm thinking about buying a seat in one of these camps and if I do I will provide a full trip report for you guys.
