pretty ridiculous hands, 1/2 live deepstack
playing at a local card club in boston last night. some hands i wanted to share with you guys.
hand #1. i have $600 in front of me, 7 handed i limp UTG with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for the straddle bet of $6. smaller stack in MP ($175 total) makes it $25 and there are 4 callers of the 25 back to me. i decide to call and drill the flop hard. flop: Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I check, UTG+1 leads for $30 into a $130 pot. MP does weird things with his hands and chips. He shoves for 160 total. a few folds, I elect to insta call the shove because I believe to be beating his flush draw and I think by turbo calling MP will make UTG+1 fold a better hand [he has roughly $550 behind the $30 feeler]. results: MP has As Tx for nothing UTG+1 had JJ and folded the flop turn and river blanked, boom selecta ship it hand #2 this hand is vs Ted - someone i have a lot of history with. he is a solid player and his regular game is the foxwoods 5/10 nl. while i think he views me as a good player he views most things i do as suspect. i am button with 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($550 behind, he covers). Ted limps for 2, player after him makes it $15. I make it $30. Ted asks the other player if he will just cold call my reraise or drive to 4popville. Ted eventually calls the $30, and the other player folds (?) Ive been showing down monsters usually when I make this kind of play preflop. Pretty much any bet is gonna take the pot down on the flop unless he gets stubborn or flops quads or something. flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] [80] Ted leads 45 very quickly. I minraise to 90. He pauses for a few seconds and raises 100 on top. I deliberate quickly and call intending to shove scary looking turn/turn that helps me. turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [460] He checks, I open shove ~$300, and he tanks for a little bit.... and calls, much to my amazement. river: 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] results: Ted has Kc Tc for a pair of kings hero has 4h 3d for flush, 4 hi the next two hands are vs. pretty bad player (inexperienced, knows what beats what but has no preflop discretion). he will usually call down psb's with any pair or any draw doesnt matter. he will move in for any amount at any time on a bluff. its pretty easy to tell where he is at based on how he bets and the way he behaves during a hand. raises pf with any two hand #3 Hero limps utg with TT for $15 (facing a straddle and double straddle) 2 more limps, villain makes it 65 [both about 750 more behind] i call, everyone else folds flop comes A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [160] i check call 50 turn: 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [260] i check call 50 river: 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] [360] i check call 100. your missed spade draw is no good, sir. results: hero has one pair, tens villain has a set of aces hand #4 The evening ended with this hand: Hero minraises the restraddle from $6 to $12 with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] a shortstack 2 to my left makes it $40 2 other people call the $40, i make it $200 straight with 200 more behind. villain moves in on me. (WTF?) i call in hellmuth style fashion. flop: A T 9 r [1000 or so] villain yells "come on king!" turn: K river: 8 results: Hero has AK shortstack has TT villain has QJ for super straight |

Re: pretty ridiculous hands, 1/2 live deepstack
These hands have expert play written all over it.
The UTG open limp, the preflop mini-reraise, the flop mini-reraise and the 3rd pair check-call, check-call, check-call. |

Re: pretty ridiculous hands, 1/2 live deepstack
Description of villain in hand 3 could also be applied to hero in hands 1-4.
