Re: 50NL AQ rr pot, I hit the A on the turn
you have to bet the flop. When you 3bet preflop you should continue that strength on the flop unless it is a horrendous board.

Re: 50NL AQ rr pot, I hit the A on the turn
Well it's always hard to play A-Q or A-K out of position when you don't hit on the flop..
On that flop there is no really scary cards, no flush draws, and no real straight draws, and you have to overcards to the board with a runner-runner flush spade draw, so far so good. What could you oppenent have? There was a few limpers, than he raised from the button. He could be on the steal, than you reraised him but he called the reraise. Is he a tight solid player, or loose and unexperienced? It can all affect your decision. My guess is that he probably called the bet with AK or a medium to low pair. He could have called with a weak ace, but less likely. So, with this board, i would probably bet the flop. half to three quarter of the pot. If he has AK, it's going to be hard for him to call. If he has middle pair or low pair like 10-10, it's gonna be hard to call to. I don't think he has AA or KK neither QQ, he would have probably reraised, though it can be possible. So a bet on the flop will define your hand out of position. If he calls the bet, well it's gonna be a tough decision on the turn. If he raises, your probably beaten. Now you checked the flop, and he checked behind you. An ace comes on the turn. At that point, i would probably check and call if he bets, trying to keep the pot as small as i can. If he has AK, he's probably not going to fold, if he has been slowplaying a monster, you gonna loose less money, and it might induce a bluff if you check and call. All in all, it's never easy to play AK or AQ out of position when you don't connect. Hope it helps! cheers! |

preflop: make raise $5.75
Flop: bet 7 turn: i don't see much value in betting. check and induce a bluff |

I c-bet that flop for about a 3/4 PSB. check turn and call a bet on the river.
