Default Looking at, and not buying magazines, papers at stores, gas stations.

How many of you do this? I do this sometimes. Usually when I'm grocery shopping or waiting in line to use the restroom at gas stations. Usually it's just flipping pages and skimming.

I ask this, because today I was told by the gas station attendant that I must buy the copy of Auto Trader if I was going to browse over it. (While waiting for some dude to finish peeing). I laughed, and obliged. First time this has happened.

Yeah I've been told this too. Some of the magazine stands even say that no buy no read. I guess its because those magazines are gonna be totalled before someone buys them if it's allowed to read before buying, somewhat decent rule imo but if I was the gas station attendant I wouldnt care.

Does a bookstore count? I do this all the time at Barnes and Noble.

I think everybody does this at a chain like Barnes and Noble. If you're going to buy, just take one from the back of the stack.
