Moving past 5NL?

So I've been in experiment mode the last few days, dabbling with uber micro limits playing LAG. Do you all have any suggestions how I can successfully duplicate these results at 25NL? I'm not naive to the terrible quality of play at 5NL, and perhaps that's the only reason I'm making money there. But it would be great if some vets could give me some good tips on what I need to do with my game to duplicate these results at 25NL and so on. Thanks in advance. Stats are 27/20/2.5

Obv, but all you have to do is c/f when you miss and value bet the crap out of made hands at 5NL. I know this strategy isn't nearly as profitable at higher limits, was hoping vets with experience moving up from here could share some insight.

I'm not a vet, and I don't have a lot of experience, but I'll tell you that 10NL and 25NL are similarly soft, in the way you describe 5NL. 50NL has been another story, but not completely different. Just more stressful.

But 25 and 50 are a bit of a ways away. Concerning moving to 10NL, it's gonna be pretty much the same game. Very easy, I promise.

1. To my mind, 27/20/2.5 is not LAG. You're playing more of a sLAG game. You're not truly "loose" until your VPIP is 30% or more, ESPECIALLY at a $5NL table.

2. Moving up from $5NL straight to $25NL is quite a jump. You can't really expect that the players won't be different in skill. I've always found a tremendous difference between $10NL and $25NL; I'm not sure if that's true at your preferred site, but it seems to be a fairly consistent "big jump" for skill levels.

3. You've got 1500 hands of experience and you're thinking about leaping forward from $5NL to $25NL -- perhaps you should consider the size of your sample. With ten times as many hands you could START to say you had developed a "feel" for the style, but as it stands I couldn't feel anywhere near comfortable yet.

4. You're wondering what you'll have to do to sustain your more than 33 PTBB/100 winrate. I'd say you'd have to peek at your opponents' cards, because that's a rather hefty target. If you expect to have a sustained winrate that is HALF that size, I'd suggest you might be in for an unpleasant surprise down the road.

5. LAG play is all about exploiting the profound postflop mistakes of your opponents. The bigger the discrepency in postflop skills, the more money a LAG can make. When you jump from $5NL to $25NL your opponents will get MARKEDLY better at postflop play; the odds that you can sustain this winrate go down precipitously, especially if you're not REALLY comfortable with the playstyle yet.

Move up slowly and make sure you are comfortable with the playstyle before you try tackling opponents that you actually respect.

I agree with everything Pokey says except that I don't give a [censored] what's LAG and what's not. You're playing a looser, more agressive style than 90% of your competent opponents, but it really doesn't matter.

Also, I have to repeat that your sample size is laughable. I'm running at 16PTBB/100 over my last ~5000 hands at NL200 and I'd be fairly pleased if my actual winrate was a quarter of that.

Keep it up, log more hands, move up when you think you're ready.

No. There are a few great LAG's that can pull off a VPIP over 30. Not many though. 26/22 is certainly lag these days.

No. There are a few great LAG's that can pull off a VPIP over 30. Not many though. 26/22 is certainly lag these days.

OP, if u feel good and confident and have a good bankroll take a shot. if it doesnt go good drop down and restart. if it goes good dont look back. there is nothing u need to differently. the level b the same minus the money different.
