Smoking / No-Smoking In Florida Cardrooms?
The only cardroom less than an hour and a half drive from my house is the Seminole Brighton room (it's only 35 minutes from me). Unfortunately, it can be filled with chimneys at the busiest times of the week. As far as I know, it's the only room that still allows smoking within the poker room.
The next closest room to me is the Seminole Immokalee. The main part of the casino allows smoking, but the poker room itself is completely non-smoking, which is fine with me. Moving out from there, I'm at least 2 hours to West Palm Beach, Sarasota and Tampa. Is Brighton the only poker room in the state that still allows smoking? A quick word from 2+2'ers who frequent the other rooms would be appreciated. |

not sure if it helps or not, but none of the Tampa area rooms (casino, parimutuals (sp?)) allow smoking in their rooms.

By "all Tampa area rooms", that includes Tampa Hard Rock, Tampa Greyhound, Derby Lane, Tampa Downs, right? Are there any others? Thanks. |

yes, those were the rooms i was referring to. none of them allow smoking (although at THR you can smoke as long as you're just outside the cardroom).

Re: Smoking / No-Smoking In Florida Cardrooms?
As I understand it, all of the poker rooms in the parimutuel facilities are non-smoking by law. Is that right?
It seems that the rule at the Seminole poker rooms is up to the individual casinos' general managers. I know the rooms in the Tampa Hard Rock and Immokalee are non-smoking and Brighton allows smoking. Anyone know about the others? |
