Default 99 hand for nOOb discussion

VETS, PLEASE LET THE NOOBS HAVE THIS ONE. AT LEAST WAIT A BIT BEFORE POSTING ORIGINAL THOUGHTS, THOUGH YOU REALLY SHOULDN'T HAVE ANY.

Ok, there's been a lot of "Am I aggro enough?" and "How should we play pps preflop?" type threads recently. I present this for NEWBIE discussion:

PokerStars 2/4 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero calls, Button calls, 1 fold, BB checks.

Flop: (3.50 SB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, Button checks.

Turn: (1.75 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero checks, Button checks.

River: (1.75 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, Button calls, BB folds.

Final Pot: 3.75 BB

Note: I've intentionally given you no information. Don't make any assumptions.

Where did you find this hand, Boz?

Edit: Also, no play along ?

First of all, this is 5 handed and we have 9s, we should be raising this PF.
Flop as played, we need to bet here. This board only connect with 3 other kings and two other fours.
Turn we can lead
At the River, im not sure. Hopefully more aggressive play on earlier streets could keep this from happening. As it is,the pot is to small to risk the chance of a c/r. I check/call.

Umm...okay, I'll take a stab at this?

I would start off with a preflop raise since it's a decent PP and in a shorthanded game.
On the flop, I'd bet because the odds are pretty small that someone has a 4 or a king.
Bet the turn because of the full house, bet the river to see if i can get one more bet out of the guy.

those are my thoughts, don't ridicule me too much?

Ok, so let's let the cat out of the bag: I wasn't Hero. I was BTN, and had JT ftw. Hero [censored] up every street of this hand.

Short-handed or not, his preflop and flop mistakes are obvious. His turn mistake is the same, although if he'd played the first two streets better he'd probably have not made it to the turn.

Which brings us to the river: one, why is Hero's bet a mistake, probably regardless of the earlier streets but definitely in light of the earlier streets? Two, why didn't I raise? (Hint: the answer is partly the same in both cases.)

And, Wookie, a playalong? C'mon!

Wild speculation: Boz is not the hero. Do I win?
