seems to me the flop needed to be played differently, checking it to the original raiser seems like a good play, see how much he puts in,and raise him.
looks like a big flop for drawing hands,so it also would be a reasonable spot to overbet the flop, say a 600 bet(into the 420 pot),and committ anyone who wants to go further.
as played,check/folding the turn makes sense, looks alot like a made flush draw, even though it wasn't.

I know these spots are common, what i meant by freak occurence was me being ahead in this particular spot

biggest error was prob preflop call OOP...also hindsight is easy but I guess since we are OOP we can bet bigger on the flop to commit ourselves to the hand...

check calling a raise with QJ preflop with QJ is iffy and we are short enough that we could even push this flop...again this is all given the results

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is UTG+1 with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG folds, Hero calls, MP1 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 raises to $120, 4 folds, Hero calls, MP2 calls.

Flop: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($420, 3 players)
Hero bets $300, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($1320, 3 players)
Hero checks, MP2 bets $699, MP3 calls, Hero folds.

River: 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($2718, 2 players)
MP2 checks, MP3 checks.

Results:
Final pot: $2718

MP2 shows QT
MP3 shows AsKx

So, should I just write this off as a freak occurence or did I misplay the hand somewhere?

[/ QUOTE ]

Don't be too results oriented. I fold crap that turns into a FH all the time. Doesn't mean I should call a raise with 32o.

Without good reads, this play was fine.
