Default NL 25: AK in 3-bet Pot

Original raiser runs 13/8/5 over a large sample
Caller runs 20/10/3 over a large sample
Both multi-table

Hero runs 13/11/2.5 and I don't do much 3-betting--far more than anyone at the level maybe, but its not constant.

I use position and the caller to squeeze EP. Easy lay down with AK here, IMO, but would you call with AA? Or would you call with AK here...

There is no way I am folding TPTK here. The SPR is about 2.

You 3 bet, hit your flop, and are now thinking of folding. WOW! The villain has an AF of 5. He is a bully. You will get it all in, so just push.

I dont see that AA plays much different. AA is only marginally better in that you dont split w/ another AK and you have runners flush draw to the nuts rather than 2nd nuts.

[/ QUOTE ]Berge, your hand = AA here. We can be confident that UTG doesn't have AA.

I think vil had AK too but he could have JJ
I never fold this, easy push if you got beat too bad you did not give them good odds for a set at all....
But the basis of everything is your pot committed easily with your stack size so yuou shouldnt even be thinking about what villian has or what hands you beat here imo

Wow, I don't belive this at all. Guys, look beyond my holding and lets think about this.

We have 2 TAGs and a sLAG in a 3-bet pot. Our ranges are not that big--mine is probably the biggest, but it's not that huge.

Say the EP villian has TT+ AQs+ with maybe, maybe, a suited connector. MP looks mightly like a small-mid pair. These guys may not be the best, but they have a decent grasp of the situation. EP is leading into two players in a 3-bet pot who can easily hold at least AK. To me, that screams total strength, by any measure. He's committed to the pot with his bet.

What hands would he do that with that I beat?
AK is certainly possible for the split.
QQ--into two people in a 3bet pot with a King up? No
Big draw probably is CR AI here

Am I crazy?!??!?

[/ QUOTE ]That's right, never reevaluate during hands. TPTK arrrr in. /sarcasm

Berge, they may have a clue but I think AK is still the nuts here. UTG is not potting any hand that beats AK imo, he may bet them but he isn't potting.

1. 3 bet more pf, I bet 5 here.

2. Easy laydown of AK at NL50 or higher. Here it's not clear but I think I might push, most NL25 players call 3 bets lighter than they should (particularly where you don't bet enough) and he has such a high aggression factor that QQ/TT/AQ are all in his range.

Def push with AA
