Default Lodging near Caesar\'s Indiana

I've never been to Caesar's Indiana. A guy I know wants to go there with a friend of his.

Can you recommend any hotels or motels nearby (in addition to the Caesar's hotel)? Also, your comments or experiences with them.

Thanks.

Also, do you have any comments regarding recent experiences trying to get a poker room rate at Caesar's?

I don't think they have a poker room rate but I am local so I never asked.

There are a couple of hotels right there at the exit. I think one is a Holiday Inn express and the new one is a Hampton Inn.

Many of the out of town players stay at Georgetown, In. I can't remember the brand of the hotel it is Motel 6 or Super 8 something like that and fairly new.

Yep, Holiday Inn and Hampton Inn in New Albany. Otherwise, your best bet is Louisville. If you don't drink too much and can leave before you are exhausted, New Albany or Louisville are going to be much cheaper.

However, if you are like me, you'll want to be able to walk to your room at 5 a.m. It's a long walk from the casino to the hotel, though

If you have a Harrah's total rewards card, you get a discount. Funny, I was just checking for rates at Caesars, IN, and I save $30 Sat. night with my card ($169 as opposed to $199).

Sometimes I stay in my camper in the parking provided for such.

Steamboatin, how far away is Georgetown? Maybe I'll see you Saturday?

Probably six or seven miles from the New Albany exit. I used to play a lot in the $10-20 game, before it got seriously damaged by NL, and there were a number of players that came down from Indy. Many of the poker only players told me they stayed at Georgetown because it was clean and cheap. The players that gambled on table games had comped rooms at Caesar's so they stayed onsite.

Okay Mapquest says 14.47 miles and 19 minutes from Motel 6 at Georgetown, IN to Caesar's IN.

I've stayed at the Caesar's hotel before, but didn't get the poker player rate because I didn't ask for it. I'm sure they might give you a player discount if you ask. I have however stayed at the Holiday Inn Express about 10 minutes away. I think it is well worth the money savings to stay at Holiday Inn. I think it cost me like $80 as opposed to >$200 at the Caesar's hotel on the weekends. I think I was only in my room for a few hours before I had to get up and leave. $80<$200

I agree, sdill. It's tough to make the drive, but if you stay safe, it's definitely worth the savings.

Since I'm going alone this weekend and won't have my bf to share the costs, I'm going to stay at the Holiday Inn.

Still kills me to spend $80+ for a few hours in a bed and a shower!

what time are you going to be there? Like actually in the poker room? I can probably break free to stop by and say hello.

my advice is to seek out a seven star member who will be able to get as many free rooms as they like. offer them $50 or $75 or whatever.

Where are you coming from? Jeffersonville (right across the river from Louisville) may also be an easier option.

Alas, Ceasars Indiana, the poker room is still many ways the stepchild of the Casino, and last I heard they don't give a poker rate.

The only exception is during the WSOP Circuit Event, when they give out a special code for you to book your rooms at the special rate. If you are coming for the WSOPCE, be sure to use the code given in the press release for the WSOPCE announcements on the http://www.worldseriesofpoker.com website. There is also a thread in the Tourney forum (under the Tunica Thread) that gives that code, that's the same at all Harrah's properties when booking rooms for the WSOPCE.

BTW, if you stay at Ceasars Indiana, be sure to bring earplugs with you, as the walls in the rooms are paper thin, and you won't be able to sleep due to noise unless you bring those earplugs.

However, the beds are wonderful there, you'll sink right into them, they are that comfortable.

Edit: Try this code here:

Corrected code: CO9W0RL (second 'oh' is a zero - think of it like this: Co9W0RL)
