i'm 3betting both of those turns.

1st hand, because it's early in the session and i want to send a message. playing a good, not great hand so strongly HU against an opponent(who is trying to test you) is going to help him keep from semibluffing you/putting you in tough spots later in the session. the more straightforward your opponents play against you, the better decisions you make; good decisions save/make the most money. and more importantly, we're ahead of a good portion of his range. worse top pairs, pp's, semibluffs, and pure bluffs, all that we currently beat, make up a significant portion of his distribution.

hand two is an easier 3bet. you beat top pair on a drawless board, a semibluffy [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] draw came up and you have a hand near the top of your range. sure you'll run into trips once in a while, but most of the time we are relentlessly hammering our opponents' worse holdings and putting pressure on them.

we are sending another message. these types of plays are the preliminary step to "controlling" the table. but again, it's most important to note that we are pushing value as well. playing strongly in these situations exploits an overaggression exhibited by most online players these days and puts us in a position to make alot of money because of it.
