I generally do 60kish VIP points a month, and they only require 10k.

Very easy to maintain.

It's about 7,500 hands at midstakes (10/20+) a month.

[/ QUOTE ]

Um sick how many hands a month do you average? You're hitting the $3k ARP bonus every 2.5 months if you're not confusing ARP and VIP points.

[/ QUOTE ]

60k VIP points is actually 180k ARPs. He is getting the $3k almost monthly. It's really not that hard playing 10/20+ to get that many points if you play full-time.

i've often thought that it may be profitable to run rake free high stakes games, and use the money from interest from player accounts to fund the process.

[/ QUOTE ]

High stakes players care about other things way more than the comparatively miniscule amount of rake they're paying, I think. Take the same idea and put it in front of tons of small-stakes players though, and it might work. You'd have to figure out how much you stood to make either way though. And I think certain patterns of play and deposit/cashout would swing it one direction or the other.

They must be putting money into a foreign bank in an emerging market somewhere which gives them a better return than 9%. Of course if that bank collapses the money will be gone. Still a good idea I think.

lol no I doubt it.

There will be a catch no doubt so you just have to wait to see what it is.

Something like,

Interest on everything over $x or

interest paid in bonus $

First, I would be amazed if there was no upper limit.

Second, they will be earning 5 or 6% on this money themselves, so they are making up the 4 or 3% extra. They'll make that extra 3 or 4% from your rake plus money they earn from having a larger player base. I imagine they have calculated the upper bound of money you can earn interest on according to how many hands you have to play to sustain Elite. Infact if someone can tell me how much rake they pay each month to sustain elite, you should be able to estimate this upper bound from that. I imagine we're looking at it being worth 40 or 50% rakeback perhaps (at the most).

The catch is that you are not allowed to withdraw any money during the month (or xfer). Makes it really hard to do the reload bonuses for most of us. The reloads are worth way more than this to me.

You're going off of a chat or an email with a CS donk. Maybe you should wait for the terms before drawing conclusions?
