Default Unsure what to do with my AJs (folding seems weak...)

Stars $20/180. 12 or 13 left. Villain hasn't done anything too, too crazy. I've been card dead and (IF he's paying attention) seem tight. I just doubled up with AK to get my stack.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t1200 (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero (t20127)
BB (t14350)
UTG (t20783)
MP (t15122)
CO (t27359)
Button (t22475)

Preflop: Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

I don't like calling OOP.
I don't like folding with stacks this shallow.
I don't like raising since I doubt I fold better hands. I don't even know that 77-99 let this go.

Yeah, it's nasty. I would let this got if it wasn't [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] but I'm a sucker for pretty hands. Pushing sucks because not one worse hand calls and not many, if any, worse hands raised in the first place so that leads me to calling - the deciding factor being that we have just enough room for a check-raise.

I call, I'm getting sick of guys that play push/fold... Let's see what the flop brings..... Push any flushdraw or J-high flop!

Interesting, esp when you include your J to a Q comment. Care to elaborate?

I'm not a huge fan of calling, but we do close the action and act first on the flop which is pretty key here. If I recall, there is ~T6,000 in the pot and we need to put in 2400 or 10% of our stack to call.

UTG has the same stack size & *generally* an UTG raise is legit, not a steal. However, we are as short handed as you can get, so I'd loosen his hand range a tad.

Given the pot odds, we are only making an incorrect call vs. AK-AQ & JJ+, or <5% of all hands. Hard to put a thinking villian on that tight of a range 6 handed. Since OP doesn't think he can fold a better hand pf, calling and running a modified SnG seems to be a valid line here.

If not, please explain.

I thought it is obvious that calling with a hand which is dominated by all standard raising hands UTG is incorrect? We could probably make such call in position, but not from the SB vs UTG.

What do you consider "standard" raising hands UTG short handed on a FT bubble?
