Default [NL50] Unraised pot, top and bottom pair, lots of action

Two villians in this hand, 1st one is a full stack 50$, the second is a shorty with 17$. I have 50$. They limp in MP and c/o respectively, sb completes, I check in the bb with 83o. Flop comes out:
3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
I have no spades. I bet out 2$, villian 1 raises to 6$, shorty villian 2 pushes all in for 16.50$, and I...
don't go broke in an unraised pot?

I dont ever follow that rule of dont go broke in an unraised pot. Its a stupid dated saying from a long time ago. If you like variance you can shove or you can be conservative and fold. I think I would probably fold here but Im a nit.

there's truth in the saying

if you dont have a lot of money invested, why should you be trying to chase it?

i guess i'd push here
but folding is not terribly wrong i guess

Its not about having money invested, its about taking spots that are +EV. Honestly I think this spot is pretty EV neutral, it really seems like such a marginal spot that you can do what you like. I just hate variance so I take the conservative route.

I fold this. If you're up against a set and a flush draw or a better two pair and a flush draw you are in serious trouble. I think at least one of them has a better hand than yours already.
