Everyone folds around to Villian.

Hero calls $4.25.
Pot size=$12.75

Flop comes-Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Hero checks
Villian checks
pot size $12.75

Turn Card-2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
Hero bets $6
Villian calls $6
pot size=$24.75

River-T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Hero checks
Villian Bets $12
pot size $36.75
Hero folds.

Normally I would re-pop pre-flop. Decided to go for a massive pot. I put Villian on KK or QQ maybe. After the hand he says "I had the hand you would never expect!. C'mon your smart enough to fold AA so what did I have?".

So what did he have?. Could he have also have had AA?.
Some comment on the hand would be apprieciated, thx

he could have AJs+ and TT+ here. unless he is a big LAG in which case his range open to SC's as well.

No offense, but this hand is really botched.

People at these stakes don't usually fold to a 4-bet pre-flop. Always, always, always repop -- especially if you're out of position. The fact that you're OOP in a 3-bet pot with a monster is why the hand got royally screwed on the flop. You were going for a check-raise, I assume, and he didn't fall for it - or is slowplaying a set of queens, or something. In any case, your weak bet on the turn isn't going to accomplish much--certainly not shut down draws. You both have massive stacks still (assuming you both have at least $50 to start with) and he has huge implied odds to outdraw you (if he needs to).

your reads are exactly what I was thinking,Greggg230. This hand was totally botched on my behalf. We both had $120 each is why I wanted to create a monster pot. The monster bit me in the ass.

I wouldn't flat call the preflop 3bet, even if I wanted to set up a big pot. I want to get more money in the pot as early as possible so I can set villan up to get all his money in with a weaker hand, even KK. I think KK could make sense for him here. He checks behind you thinking that you would have bet the flop if you hadd AQ or a set. He takes a free card on the flop and calls you on the turn because the deuce isn't likely to help anyone.

The river kills your hand by putting a 4 straight on the board and he knows this if he's putting you on AA. So his range could be anything from KK to any K, or any other PP that he would 3bet you with. I think this is a good river fold. You didn't have to get to the river this way, though.

No biggie - happens to the best of us. Fancy play syndrome kicks in every now and then.

To answer you question, my best guess based on the action would be a set. Based on his comment afterwards, he might have some ridiculous suited 8x hand.

I would also have reraised preflop after his raise, but if you just call, then I think you have to bet the flop. With a Q and J on the board I would make a pot size bet. You can't count on him betting so you can check raise.
