OK - let's play on.

I think for about 7-10 secs and bet out 9k, leaving me with 18k.

He immediately re-raises another 12k.

What now?

This looks like it might be KcQx. You have to call here.

As played, you gotta call here.

I would have stuck it all in on the flop to begin with to apply the maximum amount of pressure possible. This isn't really a board you want to mess around with.

If you believe your Queens are good (and I see few reasons why you shouldn't), then your only possible play is to stick it in there. Any pot-sized or less bet prices in any reasonably high single club. If I am UTG with an Ace or King of clubs, I'm not even considering folding for anything less than a shove. If you don't try to take down this pot on the flop, then IMHO you aren't playing for 1/2.

Shove. He can easily do this with the naked Ac. You can't lay this down.

Yeah, I think raising more pre-flop is good and you have to get to the felt asap now. Is this the Gutshot or your local?

I push right there...you know 2 pair is out...only sets of 7s or 10s or a flush are worrying.

If he is on a small pair, and one is a club...still a tuff call for him.

You are likely a big favorite here, and since he thinks you are a rock....you should be able to take it down.

Cheers for all the answers!

I thought for a little while, decided he was prob making a move anyway and then pushed the rest of my chips in and he looked visibly upset and called reluctantly.

He turned over 2d2c, and promptly turned his club to make the flush and no club on the river to split the pot - I was out.

As I left the tourney, I really felt like the best play in this situation was to push all in on the flop, as I think, although he was LAGGGYY, he wouldn't have called the bet. I'm glad to see that a few others here make the same play.

Registrar - not gutshot, but equal chance in walthamstow.
