Will Dusty Baker ever be hired as a manager again?

I guess I'm jumping the gun a little, but I can't see how Dusty can possibly keep his job through the rest of this season. The Wrigley Field dugout has become a place were managers go to die. Not since the Phillies hired Lee Elia in 1988 has an ex-Cubs manager been re-hired. That's 14 managers the Cubs have had since 1983, none of whom could ever find a job managing again:

Don Zimmer
Joe Altobeli
Jim Essian
Gene Michael

Now back to Dusty. He is a 3 time manager of the year. Has been to the playoffs 4 times and to the World Series once. He had a reputation as being a great player's manager in San Fransisco but has taken tons of heat for a wide variety of decisions in Chicago.

He's wasted what...4 years now in Chicago? I think many teams would rather hire a younger unproven guy than him and his baggage. He seems to be a great guy and all, but I don't see many GM's wanting him near their drafted arms.

EDIT: He, like Zimmer, will always have a spot as a Bench Coach though. He's too good of a presence NOT to be in someones locker room. He just won't be calling the big shots.

Jack, if you were a GM, looking for a manager at the end of this season, would you hire Dusty? Or the next best candidate (even if unproven at the MLB level?)

I would probably be about 5 times more likely to want Dusty as a bench coach than manager at this point.

But by saying that, he is implying that he (dusty) will be hired as a manager again. If he thinks this, that's fine. I wouldn't be shocked at all if he was hired again. But I want to know, if Jack were a GM, would he hire Dusty?
