Situations like this have been bothering me. This is a super ugly board to call on but wtf, isn't there something i can do besides shove and fold out basically everyone always?
raising to $30 or so seems even more suspicious than shoving.

You're only up against one villain in your example, so I think the situation is not too bad... The question is what range you put him on here: do you think he is capable of raising a naked FD here? Would he minraise PF with a hand like AsQs? Have you seen him calling big raises or even a shove with TPTK stuff?
As you wrote it, you seem to think that it's bad if you "have" to shove in spots like this one, but I don't think it is, as very often, especially against rather bad players, you get max value by simply shoving your good made hands when you get raised by them...

Yes, I also hate situations where I have a dominating hand heads up with a bad player who raises me.

Anything but a shove here is ugly. If he's just SUPER AGGRO TARD and you have a solid read he thinks you're a w/t folder, THEN you can on a rare occasion let him bet all the way, but you should still be shoving the vast majority of the time.
