Default Posting Mod Notes in the forum.

Is there a hard and fast rule about whether or not we are allowed to do this? I've heard different things, and have seen it done a few times now (most recently here where kyleb posted a mod note made by RR). There have been occasions where I would have liked to make a mod note known because its hard to explain to a user the reason for a ban, etc. without making some of these clear, and would like some guidance.

Thanks in advance.

Those mod notes were made public by RR in the first place, which is why I posted them. Typically posting mod notes is poor form, unless it was meant to be shared.

I've posted them in request sometimes when they are harmless and funny, but only my own mod notes.

I've posted mod notes of users that were permamegabanned (ie yves)
