Default So close to giving up

And now I'm ready for the onslaught of how poor I play. This was at the final table of a 4/180, my first cash in 23 (my longest streak and thus my frustration...but yes yes variance). The table had been very tight other than the villian who was quite active but extremely weak. I was card dead and hadn't played a single hand in 4 orbits. The villian called preflop with any A, he would call smallish bets, but fold against big bets. I wanted to take flops with him while we were still semi-deep in chips.

PokerStars Tournament, Big Blind is t1600 with t150 antes (6 handed) Converter on pregopoker.com

UTG (t58778)
UTG+1 (t24764)
Hero (t46644)
Button (t17620)
SB (t98269)
BB (t23925)

Preflop: Hero is in CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
UTG calls t1600, <font color="gray">UTG+1 folds</font>, <font color="red">Hero raises to t3700</font>, <font color="gray">Button folds</font>, <font color="gray">SB folds</font>, <font color="gray">BB folds</font>, UTG calls t2100

Flop: (t10700) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

River: (t31100) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
<font color="red">UTG bets t8000</font>, Hero calls t8000

Results in gray below:
<font color="#f7f7f7">UTG has Jd, Th (a straight, Ten to Ace)</font>
<font color="#f7f7f7">Hero has As, Js (two pair, Aces and Jacks)</font>

Preflop - (I normally raise more, but this size raise has been effective eliminating people behind and I did not want the Villain to fold)

Flop - put him on a weak A, KJ, QJ, or a bluff, did not feel he was on a flush draw, he had checked and called with one on a previous hand a couple orbits prior)

Turn - (too small a bet I know, but I did not want him to fold knowing he would spew on the river)

River - (Uh oh, I guess he was on a flush draw but the pot is too big and my gut was screaming weak A, QJ, or KJ)

He later knocked me out with JT (of course it had to be that hand) against my A7s on a AT2 flop, T on the river. Anyways, thanks for reading, I know you have had this same thing happen, its variance and I know I'm supposed to be happy poker has such a high short term luck factor, but I can handle losing coin flips, losing with AK to AQ, but when a guy has a 1.92% chance on the flop when I haven't cashed in 23 or made the top 3 in the last 68 just makes me want to give up sometimes. Back to reading and learning, its probably me anyways.

Switch to cash... less variance and easier to see whether you've hit a bad streak or just suck.

Turn: (t19700) Q (2 players)
UTG checks, Hero bets t5700, UTG calls t5700
"Oh noes, he has AQ for sure"
Make a big raise and take the 20,000.

and you arent playing deep your M is 10 before the hand is dealt.
