Default Moving from .01/.02 to .02/.05 -- change in skill?

I'm wondering the how much of a difference there would be moving up on Stars to .02/.05 from the .01/.02 stakes. I currently have a win rate of 11BB/100Hands in both 6-max and full ring with right over 7000 hands played (2k FR, 5k 6-max).

I currently have a 50 dollar bankroll that I've grinded from $15 dollars. I feel like I might be able to get a better return with higher stakes. I'm just worried that players at that level might catch me off guard and lose a good portion of my bankroll.

Any advice of this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Players tend to play less hands and respect pre-flop raises a little more, not much of an increase in skill. Play ABC poker and you won't have much of a problem, the games are still very fishy.

Also, what would be the best to ease into a higher limit? 6-max or FR.

Thanks

Try full ring first unless you are really good at position play. It allows you to play more hands without the blinds hitting you.

.02/.05 is not much harder than .01/.02. In fact, I'd say .05/.10 is sometimes easier than both. People at that level are more willing it seems to call huge pots when someone else has the nuts. Though your bankroll won't support it yet.

A winning player at .01/.02 should have no problem moving up one level.

Thanks for the replies guys, I might dabble some in .02/.05 tonight. I'll let you know if it was a complete failure.

You've been crushing the competition at just one level lower. I'm confident you'll do very well at .02/.05. Don't worry.

Dingus-

Good luck at 5NL! I'm sure after a few rounds of playing it you'll realize that there is very, very little difference going from 2NL-->5NL.
