Default AQo Live - Am I Applying SSHE Correctly

Last night at Borgata
2/4 LHE
I have very little respect for anyone's play at this particular table. Lots of Cold Calling and check calling. Did I spew on this with flop raise? I can't imagine that this is a fold in such a large pot, but looking back i think a call was right. As played, do I take the free card or fire turn. Have at it please

Hero is in MP1 with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
1 call, Hero raises, 3 cold calls, limper calls.

Flop: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
1 bet, Hero Raises, 1 cold call, Donker calls

Turn: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Checks around

River: 10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
Checks around

You might have been able to take it down on the turn... but I would expect to see some sort of 6 from the donker... 67 maybe.

NH IMO

These guys are loose and like to call right ?

So, I dont really like the raise on the flop.

With very loose players, I think that a lot of them will probably stay until the end with any pair.

So, in this hand, I think that I would probably have just called the flop bet as the pot is quite big.

grunch

They like to cold call raises, so I'm calling this flop.

I'd call the flop and fold the turn unimproved.

I might raise the flop, but I'd fold to any more donk bets on the turn or river if I dun hit a top split pair.

Why were you raising the flop? your opponents are super loose and excessively cold calling, so if the raise is to try and take the pot, there's not much chance of that. I think there's value in the raise if it freezes your opponents on the turn and river, b/c you protect your high card if it is good against a draw or something, and maybe buy an out by folding Qx (if they're cold calling pf with anything) or Ax that would make 2 pair if you pair the turn or river. If that's the intent of the flop raise then you almost have to check the turn since that's what you're hoping for on the flop.
