hoodia - natural weightloss herb or snake oil?
after seeing a consumer report on the local news, my mom asked me to research hoodia on the internet.
apparently hoodia gordonii has been used for centuries by the bushmen of southern africa to suppress appetite. according to wikipedia: "In March 2006, Consumer Reports investigated the dietary supplement and concluded, "This weight loss drug lacks the clinical evidence for the Consumer Reports experts to recommend this product." also, there have been investigations in the past over companies selling a bogus product that did not even contain the proper amounts, if any, of the hoodia extract. my mom still wanted to give it a shot, so i found a 'reputable source' that at least apparently contains the compound. who knows if it works though. with all of the dieters on this board i thought i would give a headsup about this herb, and see if anyone has any experience with it. hoodia? |

It works, but it is very very tough to find reputable sources to get enough of the real actual herb in the product. I looked around, only half-assed though, your better off with something else imo, hot rox from biotest is GREAT for apetite supression.

i read some of this 'report' (because you never know) which claimed:
[ QUOTE ] in the mean time, here are the three hoodia supplement companies we have verified are using genuine hoodia gordonii: 1. Strictly Health / Hoodoba. This is the company that actually over-delivers on the hoodia powder. Their capsules contain an abundance of genuine, verified hoodia gordonii powder. 2. HoodiaProducts.com / Powerslim. This is also a 100% verified authentic hoodia product, sold with high ethical standards, with honest and accurate filling of capsules. [/ QUOTE ] i ordered her some of the pills from hoodoba. |

I see you already ordered but I would have done a whois on the "reports" site, and the ones mentioned as legit to see if they were related.

Is obesity a problem in the jungle? Are video games, television, and fast food encroaching the wild? I simply cannot imagine this. |

Fall for what? Hoodia does work, very effectively, supplements companies make it very expensive, and dont give you a bunch of the actual herb though.

[/ QUOTE ] No, but they probably enjoy the feeling of being hungry all the time about as much as the next guy. Hoodia is an appetite suppressant. |
