Default Help, need quick answer about BJ stategy at Starluck!

I am using the chart from casinobonuswhores: LINK When I have 20 and dealer has 8 exposed, why do I just 'stand' and not double? Seems counterintuitive?

Why would that be counterintuitive? You're in good shape with 20 vs 8.

The reason you stand is that it's +EV compared to all other options. It is +EV since you'll win a lot more often.

Or when I have T-T, against dealer 3, why do I just stand, instead of splitting? Does that sound right?

I'm trying to verify that the chart is correct...

Not sure what you mean? If you have 20 you always stand, no matter what the dealer has. If you doubled, you would lose every time except when you catch an ace hehe.

Splitting has less EV than standing (though it is still a winning move), because your hand will be ruined by bad cards often enough.

I think you're underestimating the strenght of your hand.

splitting tens is greedy. You hope to have two twenties but what if you get two sixteens? you'd be screwed. Dont do it.

If you have a good read on the dealer and he has been opening UTG frequently I would often raise in this spot ...else use the damn chart and don't think
