No specific read on villain besides for stats of 17/6/3. Would he only cold call PF w/ A/K ? Could I be facing a flopped set? Should I have folded to the flop raise? I think I botched this completely after betting the flop.

There are a million draws he could have here in addition to made hands, and yeah, you'd really expect a 3-bet pf from AK, but...

I'd play it the same way you did; I'm not getting it in when I get min-raised but I'm not folding either. The turn card plus his bet means I'm probably behind.
