Like him or hate him, I understand that Sr. Brenes has a new writing gig for a Spanish-language website

Because everyone knows that it's worth it to lose your dignity and respect in order to get a job WRITING for a WEBSTE, which obviously must be paying in the millions.

I don't have a problem with his antics.

However, as someone else pointed out, he's probably not a terrible guy, probably really nice actually. He does all that stuff so he can get invited to shows...What is this anyways, the 10th thread on this subject?

The Spanish-language website which hired Sr. Brenes happens to be owned and operated by one of the biggest media companies in the world, and arguably the most famous brand in sports entertainment media in the world.

Google el lider mundial en deportes and you will know exactly what I mean.

A number of Spanish-speaking players on the tour would kill for the job that Sr. Brenes just got hired to do.

A pro poker player getting hired to write for a media business that is owned and operated by one of the 30 members of the Dow Jones Industrial Average does NOT happen every day.

played with him early in a WPT event, he played pretty tight, but he seemed kinda bad. He was pretty funny in a weird way, and a real nice guy. His tv act is annoying though, but it was early in the tournament so he didn't pull that out.

Most of you know the story. But there is at least one newbie contributing to this thread so for his benefit if nobody else's here goes: the year Chris Moneymaker won the WSOP ME he found himself heads up on a King high against Humberto Brenes. Brenes checked. Moneymaker had pocket eights which he went allin with (?). Brenes wagged his finger at Moneymaker and turned over pocket aces. The turn was an eight.

This is one dumb guy. He wagged his finger. He forgot that winning is a verb. Won is the done deal.

PS: anyone know the story better then please fix my post.

I don't see the point of your story? He called Moneymaker with the best hand, and then got sucked out on. Damnit Brenes, such a bad play!!!!!!

Or was it that the finger wag was a single to the dealer that he was ready to leave, so the dealer dealt from the bottom of the deck to put an 8 out there?
