yeah whatever floats his boat, i just can't imagine that being enjoyable. obviously if you just love learning braille, go right ahead though lol, no skin off anyone else's back.

Can anyone explain to me why braille isn't just raised lettering? Why the dots?

I imagine because raised dots would be an awful lot easier to recognize than raised letters.

heh i just read up on braille and it really doesnt seem like it would be anywhere near as hard as i imagined. i didn't really know anything about it. neat system.

I don't agree. I don't have proof, but I don't see how it would be any more difficult. I mean each letter has a pretty distinctive shape.

I swear I've heard somewhere that people can read in braille faster then normal reading. I think I remember hearing this when I was like 10 though, so there's a decent chance I remember wrong/ it's bs.

1. Instead of having to keep braille magazines and books around just for those two times a year when the power is out at night...buy a flashlight?

2. Study for the test instead of studying braille?
