Default High Stakes Poker thread (10/21) (spoilers to come)

Tonight is either the last or next to last episode before the 500k buyin series of shows (depending on if you believe Card Player (10/29) or GSN's press release (11/5).

Seems there'll be lots of discussion about how much of a "nit" Phil Galfond is according to the preview from last week's broadcast.

For those that care, here's the lineup for the 500k buyin game (in white):

Doyle Brunson
Sammy Farha
David Benyamine
Barry Greenstein
Antonio Esfandiari
Jamie Gold*
Patrik Antonius - buying in for a cool million
Guy Laliberte
* Daniel Negreanu replaces Gold on 11/26

The 500k lineup looks promising.

I wanna know how Gold and Esfandiari can play in this game. Neither has the roll for it.

Well, most players today advice of a 100 buy-in rule - thus one need $50MUSD to have the roll for it.

what? 100? Most players today advise 20-30 buy ins. About $10mil to REGULARLY play in this game, only need $500,000 to take a shot at it. Need maybe $5 mil to feel comfortable?

Gold is playing much better. I did however love Gabe's line after Gold says he put Eli on Jacks after Eli flipped. "Jamie has great eyesight."

Cannot WAIT for this 500k game. Hopefully some of this stupid crap will subside with Greenstein/Doyle at the table.
