Default Stranger Approaches My Daughter, Gives Her a Present

So I'm waiting outside of Mimi's Cafe for a table for my 2 1/2 year old daughter and I to have lunch together. We're sitting out there and a guy walks outside to have a smoke and pulls out a pack of reds. Then, he comes and sits strangely close to us. Before I even really have a chance to think wtf? he says hi to my daughter and gives her this:

And says "Happy Sunday!" like three times. My daughter said "What's this?" and I said "It's a present!" I was so dumbfounded I told my daughter to say thank you, sat there awkwardly for a couple of minutes, and then went inside with her to see where we were on the list. As we were walking away the guy said "Happy Sunday!" again.

Handing out ANYTHING to other peoples' children without asking the parent first just isn't acceptable. I still can't tell how enraged I should've been, but I suspect this will raise the ire of a few folks around here.

so your sat with her, maybe if she was playing somewhere in view and you seen him give her something, it would be out of order, but i dont see the harm.

Certainly wouldn't cause a fuss over something this little.

LFS,

Coincidentally, I just texted "Happy Sunday!" to this chick I want to bang.

Edit: Creepy dude running up to your kid in public = grounds for preemptive ass kicking.

No, I jumped in with that because I didn't want Reverend Weirdo to launch into an explanation of what it was.
