i don't understand the compulsion to gamble. when i was a bit younger i thought it was great but now being a professional poker player i can't help but think you'd have to be retarded to gamble.

if you enjoy it, fine, "gamble for fun you've already won," right. but it's one thing to goto the casino on vacation once a year and play penny games with friends for kicks, but what i hear about most 2+2ers and "successful" poker players doing is very different, and very stupid.

im making a couple hundred K this year and i can safely say not a penny will be spent on gambling.

You are registered on the wrong website then...

Unless you are one of those people who claim that poker is not gambling, and to that I don't know what to say.

NL holdem is not gambling. the superior player always wins given enough time/hands. granted there is short term variance, but it is a game of long term decision making. those who make better choices win, and in that way, it is not gambling.

i don't know anything about blackjack either, but from what i read a skilled player has approximately a 1% advantage?

but really none of this is relevant. i'm not here to prove anything. all i know is that i haven't had a losing month in 18, and there is no amount of luck that can be attributed to that consistency.

if one is skilled enough they will win absolutely, doesn't that sound like any nonluck involving game?

Poker, blackjack, and sports betting are all forms of advantage gambling. Poker is a form of gambling under the definition "To take a risk in the hope of gaining an advantage or a benefit." Arguing either side of this is really nitty, though.

lol o god

You will hate it when the negative side of variance hits you. There are many skilled players who have losing streaks, that while they could be attributed to tilt or poor decisions, are also attributed to an amount of BAD luck.
