If you reformatted the iPod then you are most likely out of luck. You can plug it into your computer and look at it in Explorer and see if you can find anything, just kill iTunes as soon as it opens. Make sure you have Explorer set up to show hidden and system files.

If you had auto-sync setup on iTunes, that's probably what did you in (you removed the stuff from your library).

I don't think it matters what player you use, if you kill your source files and have your player set to auto sync an empty library you're going to have problems.

i got wicked pissed at my computer, so the best thing to do was to get out of my apt. i still hadn't purchased a SmarTrip card, and apparently you can only get them at select locations. so i decide a good adventure would be to purchase one. i get on at foggy bottom/gwu and ride the blue line until i decide to get the card at anacostia instead of mn ave. anacostia looks closer on the map. so i switch trains to green.

it is then that i realize that i am the only white person on the train. i get very very nervous. i have to ride four stops until anacostia, all while looking very white on a train full of very black people.

one of them (older black woman) eyes me up and down, chuckles to herself and then goes back to her paper. ruh roh.

i finally get off at anacostia, purchase the card, and then have to wait twenty minutes before the train comes to take me back to l'enfant station. i am frightened, have my back pack with hundos in it, ipod (with like 20 songs, grrr), and my $300 headphones. getting mugged would be a debilitating move.

so i exit the metro station and hope to hop in a cab. yeah right. black people can't afford cabs, so there are none to be found. i walk around a bit outside to discover this fact, meanwhile scaring the [censored] out of myself.

i then decide it's best to hide underground, so i call phil for moral support. we talk about some bunkass casino that he's at (spreading 2/4,3/6, and 5/10, lolz).

finally the train comes and after an exhausting ten minutes i get off at l'enfant plaza where there are more whiteys. i practically run home and i have now locked myself in my apartment and prepared chicken and pasta in the microwave.

boz- thanks for the link. the thing has been running 13 minutes and has found 227 files and it looks like 15% progress. so hopefully everything will turn out well.
