Starting a business
Me and a friend of mine have an opportunity to inherit a small business that the current owner no longer has time for. I don't know any thing about running my own business if some one that has some experience starting out as a young novice businessmen any advice would be appreciated. Especially about laws in California concerning the transfer of a business and work mans comp issues.

Re: Starting a business
It seems to me that if the current owner doesn't have time for the business that the business probably can't support good management. If it could, he'd just hire a good manager, freeing up lots of time. If the business is not good enough for the current owner (i.e., because its a management hastle, or because its unscalable and currently at critical mass and can grow no bigger), what makes you want it? What are your exits from the business?
