Should I push here or will a reraise work?
Another hand from last nite, same villain as other hand but earlier, He had been pretty aggro at the final table and from late. I had already reraised him once from my bb with 33, he had called and I took it down with a flop bet. Should I be pushing here or just reraising? Also should i be calling once he 3 bets it?

Call... there's a decent chance he's "taking a stand" against your re-raises, and if not - you're probably flipping as often as not...

Pushing is a tad of an overbet, but not terrible. After the re-pop, you still have to call.

Re: Should I push here or will a reraise work?
I call.
And I also push with the initial raise, though I don't have a problem with a smaller raise either. In fact, I had a similar situation at my FT last night only we were six handed and I had AK. I pushed there and villan folded. This bought me a few chips (putting me ahead of the field) and also shut him down for a few hands, which was good because the rest of the table was just playing uber tight and letting me take their blinds. |

Re: Should I push here or will a reraise work?
The stack sizes make your pf reraise awkward, you're fairly committed w/ that reraise, and when villain just calls in position, you'll only have a potsized bet left. What're you going to do if you miss? Are you goign to shove any flop? Ugly reversed implied odds. I shove or call, where shove > call for me.

Re: Should I push here or will a reraise work?
Call because there sooooted.
If we give him a range of 77+, AJs+, &KQs we have 39% equity. Pot odds are almost 2 to 1 which makes this an easy call. The big question is his range. If we really tighten it to JJ+ and AQs+ then our equity is at 29% which is close but still a call. If the table dynamics were different, like if you had a microstack at the table, then you might want to reconsider. Since everyone has a playable stack though, and villian has been aggro, I would call. Edit: Oh yeah, Push preflop. As you can see from these numbers, after the reraise you are pot committed. |
