how do you get out of a down swing? you know, when you have trips on the turn and everyone around you is hitting 1 and 2 outers to full houses and straight flushes and so on? i mean seriously, what do i ahve to sacrifice/eat/dance/cry/scream/flip out/etc to break this?
i quit for like 5 months because i was getting so frustrated that it wasnt fun anymore, and so i started playing again and its like right back where i left off. im 21/8.5/ yet my W$SD% is like 30%. my postflop play is seriously not that bad. its been about 1.5K hands, which may not be much for you day job grinders, but for a sap like me its quite a bit. i really dont need any replies, i just needed to whine. thanks. let me add that its actually been about 2K hands, and thats only in the past week, im not counting the bad run i had previous to starting to play again. whine whine whine whine whine. f*****************!!! |

Re: ...
Recently received my fair share of bad beats.. they happen. Remember that a real bad beat means that you got your money in with the best hand, and got drawn out on, against the odds. This means that you are doing a few things right, as opposed to simply relying on dumb luck.
Chalk it up to variance and keep playing, as long as you still enjoy it. Carl |

Re: ...
dumb luck, for me, seems to be the part where people play poor like they normally do and their 1 and 2 outers dont hit. i think i've been born unlucky. im'ma check my hand percentages against probabilities (how many flushes i've gotten, how many straights, full houses, etc)... i think im way behind.
