I push, Board comes 4c, Kd. Guy to my left turns over KhJh for the river snag, short stack doesn't show. Analysis My opening bet is ok, as I customarily open to $20 with almost any hand in this position (first in early). I agree with the analysis that I should have re-popped the short stack preflop, though I think my hand plays well multiway as well. Calling pre-flop is ok, but raising is probably better. As for my flop call: I strongly suspected the guy to my left had a draw. He was solid but very aggressive. In calling him "solid" I in no way meant to imply he had a made hand here. I think he would have met a pot sized bet and not shoved all in if he had an overpair or top pair big kicker type hand, specifically JJ-TT, A-9, K-9. I think he would have shoved with Kxs, JTs, and the straight or a set. Thus I thought most of my pair outs were good, and I could even possibly be ahead. |

I think my hand plays well multiway as well [/ QUOTE ] I really don't think it does, in this spot. You have awful position in a protected pot. |

Re: Results
I agree my position isn't that great. However, of the three players in front of me when i call preflop, only the guy on my left was solid. The other two guys (one was the button, one that folded) were extremely loose (one loose passive, the other loose aggressive). I was banking on the loose passive guy calling the $80. Unfortunately he didn't.
