Personally, many of my friends are buying coke semi-nightly so I never have to pay, but it's kind of boring after a while and objectively is only fun for about half an hour.

Most nicknames for drugs and such have some sort of reference. How does Yak fit in as a nickname for cocaine? Makes no sense to me. The only thing I can think of is some silly blowtards thought "yak" was cocaine after listening to their favorite hip-hop records and convinced enough friends to call it that as well. Just another reason I won't ever be doing coke. Too much of a rich fratboy drug. Plus, I wanted to punch out my friends when they were coked up (too much f'ing chatter!).

Simple question from someone who has never done coke. If I were to start doing coke right now, how much would it cost me?

Here are the criteria:

1) I live in San Francisco

2) I have friends that could get me "hook-ups" to buy, so I wouldn't hvae to go through ten middlemen or anything

3) I'm talking about an amount that a casual user would do in an evening, say equivalent to a drinker drinking a few drinks, a pot smoker smoking a bowl, etc.

edit: there's also a problem in your comparison to drinking or smoking pot. It's not like weed where you smoke a bowl and you're fine; however much you buy in a night is how much you are going to end up doing. There is no "well that was fun, but i've had enough".

You are out of your mind to decide to take up a "casual" coke habit. This is something that can spin out of control fast, especially for someone with the means like you have. Your $400 a month casual use can quickly go up to $4000 a month before you know it. Coke is one of the best ways for a successful person to be broken.
