I lost to AA in hand 2.

I've also discovered that a big part of my problem was "playing fancy." Floating, bluffing, being aggro. I'm watching some of the videos of higher level players playing 25nl and I see that a big way to make money is to just be conservative. Obviously my sample size is tiny, and even more so for my new "conservative" line, but it has seemed much more successful, and I find myself in less scary positions. Still, I'm really glad this thread is so popular (I think it's the title) and everyone loves a loser. Everyone on here is big time helpful, and any more advice is always welcome.

You may not have the right mindset for the game if this makes you this despondant.

My first post was too brief

1: fine
2: cooler
3: rr pf; failing that, fold flop unless you're good at floating; turn raise size is donkish
4: meh with a read, but looks awful

Other problems: Hero's stack is often less than full... there's no reads anywhere...

Even with the errors, this could still be a winning player experiencing variance. It'd be a normal bleh session down 2 buyins w/o the cooler hand. Add another buyin for hand 4, and....

Yeah, it was just a really awful few hours, enough that I was worried my fundamentals weren't in place. And while they MOSTLY are, you can see from the hands I've posted that I'm suffering a few lapses.

You are, and this is a great place to get 'em. You're not exactly playing "winning" poker, but I don't think you're playing losing poker. But hell, even massive BB/100 rates are losing 4 stacks all the time over this kind of hand span. I lost 2 today over about half that number.

Haha, no it's just a title for shock value. Or maybe I was despondent, but only for a few minutes. I mean, look at my username. I can't be THAT sad, I heart poneez!

This sample size means absolutely nothing at all.

Some of the hands you posted are nothing more than bad beats and variance.

If you truely want to play poker seriously you need to be ready for break even sessions over tens of thousands of hands

Come on don't be like that, this stuff happens all the time, we know this but as you start playing and go through your first 1000-1500 hands isn't an easy task at all, and if you lost 4 buyins perhaps you might think you might not even get through 10,000 without being busto. Now OP knows he should post hands instead, the hands he posted might be beats but he got nice feedback anyways.

OP just be patient and post hands you think you misplayed, I think you got the right idea in general so keep trying.
