pre: he makes the raiser call two trying to get heads up with DB and a lil overlay for the monster that is ten high sooted!
flop: he flops a straight and flush draw, three way chunk it in there! (db folds
turn: there are ten bets in this pot but my opponent might want to fold
river: checking and betting seem neutral/close to me but its hard to know how often a particular player does fold on the river here

[/ QUOTE ]Preflop I suppose he either balances his 4-bet range or simply 4-bets every hand he plays against a 3-bet in the big blind. The former seems pretty likely since there aren't exactly a huge range of hands that would be worth 2 more bets but not 3, and he's going to have to pay 3 bets anyway if he calls a large part of the time.

I haven't railed him much, but skipping out on calling altogether in this spot is classic hand balancing.

I really doubt he hopes to fold out any part of the button's range. AFAIK it's really wrong to ever fold for two more bets (with a cap) on the button.

The flop is obvious valuetown at the first bet, and a semi-bluff when he 3-bets and bets the turn.

At the river he holds the second-worst possible straight draw and one of the worst hands he could have, so of course he bluffs. That's game theory 101.

As for PA the only question is why he doesn't raise the river. And my guess is that he thinks it's unlikely that Hoss 3-bets any hand OOP worse than a jack on the flop that still bets and calls the river. Combined with the fact that Hoss very likely plays good jacks, QQ, kings and AA like this and probably 3-bets with QQ and better. The only "reasonable" worse hand I see PA catching on the river is 77.

Both lines are actually pretty standard.
