Philadelphia etc. suggestions
Had longish post written out but whilst browsing expedia some crazy obvious malware advertising attacked forcing a speedy shutdown, so cliffnotes version it is:
- Am in Philadelphia around June/July next year for a long weekend on "business" shindig - obviously not flying over just for that, will be making it one/two weeks dependent on cash money - needing suggestions of what to do if staying in Philly for a bit, or alternatives to go - this year I did some of the major touristy things, also went to Boston (apart from ballpark, was meh) and NYC (which I wouldn't consider going back to unless I had at least a week to do it properly) - I don't drive - I like my sports but only thing really on at the time I'd be there is MLB and I've been to the Phillies park already - looking to use it as a break from poker as well so AC is no good - basically am open to suggestions as to ideas as to any non-obvious or overlooked things to do if I'm restricted to staying in Philly or possible onward destinations if I have the time and money. In any case I don't think anything west of roughly Chicago is feasible. Would consider Toronto/Montreal etc, not just thinking the US here. Apologies if it's awfully vague. Will be 26 and travelling alone in all likelihood fwiw. |

You should consider a trip down to DC to see some of the Smithsonian, National Archives, National Gallery, etc.

Re: Philadelphia etc. suggestions
Not sure I'll be much help, being I love Boston and you found it meh, but I sort of enjoyed Philly. If you like chessesteaks make sure you go to Pat's and Geno's, right across the street from each other, and both well worth it. Also go see the Liberty Bell and all that stuff, which is all "right there" I liked Philly, but I found you don't need much more than a single day to do most of the touristy stuff.
