I hate vista
Basically I hate my new notebook, and I can't return it. It's a $1200 gateway equipped with vista and I no longer want to use vista. When I bought the laptop I asked the salesman if it would be possible to purchase the laptop without vista, and he said no. Is there any way to completely wipe vista off my computer so its like it was never there in the 1st place, and use a operating system that is more reliable and uses less space?

Re: I hate vista
Format the laptop and install XP instead? It's not going to leave any "traces" of Vista if you do this
XP >> Vista |

Re: I hate vista
With laptops/notebooks a full different OS install can be very hard. The drivers to run the laptop hardware are usually custom from the manufacturer and may be hard to find on the internet. Worst case they may only be available on Vista.

Re: I hate vista
I just got mine a few days ago, and I have to say, I LOVE Vista so far. I was a little scared of the switch, but everything has worked out...so far. Knock on wood.
