Re: breakfast
[ QUOTE ]
4 egg whites, 1 whole egg, lots of spinach, some tomato, some green chiles, some salsa = omelette or scramble [/ QUOTE ] Something like this if I have time to sit down. Otherwise, some variation of a fruit/oatmeal smoothie- today it was strawberry, banana, blueberry. |

Re: breakfast
Isn't too much spinach bad for your kidneys or something?

Re: breakfast
I have 2 different breakfasts that I eat regularly.
1) bowl of cereal (either raisin bran or mini wheats) w/ skim milk and a banana 2) 3 whole eggs scrambled w/ 2 slices whole wheat toast and a banana both come out to around 500 cals |

blarg, never heard anything negative about spinach... [/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure there's something in it that isn't so hot for your kidneys, in large amounts. Not like laboratory large, more like a couple or few pounds a week large, I think. Don't remember the particulars. I think maybe it increases the chance of stones or something? Eh, can't recall. |

Re: breakfast
My breakfast depends on my time, but I have difficulty eating in the morning so I have to result in a liquid breakfast. I will grind a cup of raw oats, add a scoop of protein and maybe a little bit of extras if I feel like it and mix it with water.
I won't sugar coat it, sometimes its a challenge drinking it as you don't know wether to swallow or chew but it gives me what I need and I can follow with a meal of whole food shortly after. |

Re: breakfast
Wynton, i'm pretty much in the same bag.
At home i like to go with a healthy cereal, a glass of juice, and sometimes a peice of fruit. If on the go i go for a fruit salad and a fruit juice. I've also read during the cutting phase that you should start your day with a glass or two of water. Can't remember where i read that though. During bulking phase i eat more cereal, always have the fruit and a large protein shake. |

Re: breakfast
oh man i love breakfast. I have perfected this routine;
I eat an omelette with havarti cheese, mushrooms, spinach, 4 egg whites, 1 omega egg, and some paprika sprinkled on the top. I cook the vegetables on high heat in a tsp of olive oil, then i remove to the plate. this is when i start on my oatmeal (usually like 3/4 cup of oats, on low heat the whole time the omelettes cooking, then i add like half a punnet of blueberries once the omelette starts and blend them into the oatmeal with a wooden spoon, add cinamon and nutmeg and a little splenda). When the pans really hot from the vegetables I add little bit of butter and a little bit of olive oil, and keeping the heat really high, i wait for it to turn nut brown then pour my egg mixture in (eggs + about a tablespoon and a half of warm water); then as soon as it starts to cook a bit, i add the cheese, then the vegetables; once a crust has kind of formed, i fold one side over into the middle, then the other side over into the middle. Then sprinkle paprika and pepper on top; the outside of the omelete is crispy and the inside is gooey and delicious; this is the perfect start to the day for me. Sometimes i add a spoon of yoghurt to the oatmeal. Usually I drink a pot of black coffee and about 600 ml of water with all this. |
