I voted for the philosophy prof, but I'm extremely biased.

More tolerance for moral theory recently, have some pretty revolutionary [censored] wrt moral philosophy, most likely would wreck all of morality [at the very least "blame-worthiness"], from a philosophical perspective. oops. |

Re: Pick my new job

Analytic, language / mind. Mostly language. [/ QUOTE ] Best/hardest class I ever took was a philosophy of Language class with Neil Tennant at OSU. There were only six students in the class, so Tennant ran it more like a coffee house chat than an actual class. He wanted to meet at a bar instead, but one student wasn't 21 yet. Anyway, I had that class at 9:30 AM on Tuesday and Thursday. Monday and Wednesday I had a different class at the same time. Then, Monday through Friday I had Classical Mythology 222 (aka, Who killed/f-ed who in 222?) at 11:30 AM. I ate roughly the same thing for breakfast everyday, at the same time, and then ate lunch at the same time everyday. On Monday and Wednesday I ate simply because it was lunch time, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays I was famished, and sometimes got hunger headaches. And to give things a little more perspective . . . as a sophomore in philosophy I took a graduate level physics course that required quantum mechanics as a prerequisite, and I hadn't taken quantum mechanics. That class was cake compared to philosophy of language. Scott PS [ QUOTE ] have some pretty revolutionary [censored] wrt moral philosophy, most likely would wreck all of morality [at the very least "blame-worthiness"], from a philosophical perspective. oops. [/ QUOTE ] PM me sometime, I'd be interested in chatting about this. |

man up and join the military. apparently you have the money, now learn how to injure people horribly. BTW you will fail at whatever occupation OOT "selects" for you. you dont just "pickup motivation", so don't insult me by thinking that you can do it

Re: Pick my new job
I didn't really like any of your choices...but if I had to pick, I'd choose Phd.
what is your situation...age? wife? kids? option 4 - open and micro-manage a subway franchise. |

Re: Pick my new job
If you're willing to go NYPD, why not just pursue a career as an FBI agent? Also, you could change your name to Neville and fight off a horde of venomous snakes as you transport a key witness on a jumbo jet. That would make you the coolest guy on 2+2.

If you are into being physically fit and can speak a few languages. A few months ago there was an article in the Army Times about an actual rocket scientist who took this route. So if you were considering this option, I would say choose this. |
