The World of Concrete, 23->26, is the largest annual international tradeshow for the commercial construction industry with more than 80,000 registrants.

Also, SNOWSPORTS INDUSTRIES AMERICA, 22->25, about 17,000

Lots of concreters in the poker room tonight.

And I had to listen to one concrete contractor in the Diamond Lounge going on and on about the $13 million contract he got stiffed on, and the multi-million dollar lawsuit he has pending against the IRS, and the time he sued his lawyer and had him served with civil papers by US Marshals (who are claimed to be cool, but apparently the FBI are a bunch of lying pricks). And didja know if you call a district court judge a 4-letter name you'll go right to jail, but if you call a Supreme Court Justice a 4-letter name they respect your right to free speech? Not sure my free alfredo and meatballs was worth listening to all that. But who knew concreters lead such full lives?

The following week is strange also. I arrive Sunday for the ASF conference and the cost of the hotel room, during my stay, spiked for one or two nights.

I don't know if I know the reason. But I THINK it's because of at least one HUGE convention in town. It's called "World of Concrete".

That might be wrong of me to think a convention could do that to Vegas as big as it is.

Edit - ooooops, I didn't see that everyone had already answered that. I think I'm the only one in the concrete buisness that isn't there.
