Default pl omaha hilo tournament

I just joined my first pl omaha hi-lo tournament on party. It seems like people fold too much and that first-in-vigorish is even more powerful. Anyone have any breif wisdom for me?

I'd recommend folding a lot and trying to get in first with a raise when you do enter a pot.

Seriously.

on the other hand, its very rare for 1-3 players to be out within the first rotation or two because they're not folding enough.

Seriously, its pretty easy to make it toe money only playing decent hands. People play these tournaments worse then NLTH SNGs.

I guarantee there's an average of 50% of the players who are too loose and calling stations who will be out so fast... let them knock each other out and wait to take their money with good hands.

I've been playing the $22 PLO8 SNGS on party... 1 a night for the last 4 nights. I'm not that good. I've made the money the last 4 for 4.

Limp with good hands early. Punish them when you hit the flop. When its down to 5-6 players and the blinds count, change gears and start raising preflop.

On a related note: the players have NO idea of tournament strategy. I've been in 4th with the short stack and had the big stacks battling it out with mediocre hands... knocking out 2 players and shooting me into 2nd.

90 people entered ($109 each). i played super aggressive. i saw about 40% of the flops and winning (some portion of the pot) 30%. I was chip leader (or close to it) after about an hour and continued to be so until the last 12 where i took a wierd beat by the 2nd chipleader and i fell to 2nd place.

some how one of the worst players in the event made it to the final table and put a sick beat or two on people until he took the lead making me 3rd. i reraised him with KK54ss and we got allin preflop. he had AAxx and they held up (unlike the last two people with AAxx who the guy made his fortune off of. As bad as he was, he wasnt very aggressive preflop. i dont know how, but i think i should have gotten away from the hand. made $250 in 8th place
