Default Re: stars 180 turbo...back to back big hands early...same villan

I wouldn't raise to 80 preflop. All you're doing is broadcasting a big pair. Inexperienced players typically do this as they're afraid to see a multiway flop and make hard decisions later in the hand.

Which line would you rather have:

A) Raise to 80-100, get the pot heads up, *maybe* bust someone with TP vs your overpair, but most likely win a 300 chip pot (and rarely have to fold or make a hard decision).

B) Raise to 50, get a 5 way pot, and have to fold often but occasionally make top set to 2 pair or draws and win a 500 pot commonly and 6500 pot often?

While (B) is the more difficult line, it's going to make you more in the long run.

Second point: AA right after you win a hand can be worth more than the actual hand is worth. Contrary to what I just said, if you raise a bit more (80-100) with a hand immediately after you've been involved in a pot, you can get a bit more action. If you lost a pot, you're on tilt. If you won a pot, you're a maniac. Both are small human tendencies, and if you are playing against people who are paying attention (typically live), you can extract or build a bit more.
