Re: Colts Pumping Artificial Noise into The Dome
Yes teams do in fact pump fake crowd noise sometimes. Lots of teams. Plenty of times. There's no tooth fairy either. OMG deal with it. Patriots are clearly the biggest cheats in the NFL by a long shot. And they are better at playing the game of football than the Colts are (or any other current team) and would win without cheating.
Also, NT!'s takes on NFL officiating and game fixing are hilarious - lol what a blithering idiot that thinks he somehow sees the real truth while other people just don't have the depth of insight that he possesses. |

[/ QUOTE ] all i've really said is that the preconditions exist for it, the motive is there, and there is lots of lousy, highly questionable officiating. not just in games involving the pats. i haven't seen anybody refute any one of those points. so if i'm a 'blithering idiot' for stating three facts that nobody has bothered to contest, then so be it. lucky for you guys you are boston haters so you won't get banned for trolling. |

Re: Colts Pumping Artificial Noise into The Dome
The call these guys consistently [censored] up is Pass Interference which also happens to be the foul with the harshest penalty and is often game changing.
I realize that it would be difficult to use replay for a judgement type call like Pass interference but it's such an important call, the league should figure out a way to do it. Something along the lines that if it's tickytacky, the call stands but if it's a phantom call or backwards (where it's really on the offensive player and they call it on the defensive player) the flag gets picked up. |

Re: Colts Pumping Artificial Noise into The Dome
the solution is to stop giving people the spot of the foul for PI. if it's over 20 yards, give 'em 15 and automatic 1st. otherwise, spot of the foul / auto 1st.

[/ QUOTE ] no, this isn't a solution at all. it just means on every deep ball, a team will commit pass interference if it looks like a completion. the solution is having varying degrees of PI like there is for a face mask. the flagrant variety is spot of the foul, the incidental/what have you variety is 10 yards + first down. both the PI calls on the patriots would've been of the incidental variety. |

Re: Colts Pumping Artificial Noise into The Dome
The tragedy in this, is people are going to look at this and say thats not a big deal-which I dont think it is- but people look at Bellicheck trying to get some signals and is considered the 100 times worse cheating coach. I think the cheating has to be assessed on how much of an advantage it gives a team- and in a close game like the Pats-Colts, 5 yards for a false start could mean homefield advantage for the play-offs.
Edit: After reading the whole thread, my only comments are 1. if the Colts didn't do it, then so be it. 2. I do not think that the Krafts would be ostracized like Mangini, on the basis that pumping crowd noise is not as wide-spread in the NFL as watching defensive signals (theres a good chance I am wrong on this). 3. Anyone thinks Indy doesn't get over-favorable calls, look at the Indi-Stealers second round game 2 years ago on Peyton's "incomplete pass" that was absolutely an INT by Pomalu. There was 0 way that pass could have been an incomplete pass, ESPECIALLY since the ruling on the field was an INT. |
