Default MSN says things I didnt say

and its obv. a virus. "I" repeatedly wrote an apology for what Germany did to the world to a friend of mine. I only realized when he responded (like: wtf). Then in that very conversation it went:

ACTUAL_me: "Christ, I didnt say any of that"
him: "okay, whats going on here?"
NOT_me: "Ofcourse you did" (<<< obviously referring to what I have said above... WTF?"

I logged out of MSN, ran multiple virus scans but nothing. I now deinstalled a bunch of software (including MSN) and ran a few windows updates that were due.

Does that mean format C: ?

Either you're hacked/infected or you're a schizophrenic.

Though, isn't MSN cleartext? If so, are there ways to intercept conversations and send stuff like this without hacking either client's computer?

i think the last msn protocol i read did use plain text but its known to change constantly. youre looking at the wrong context if you're imagining just being able to inject or just hijack a connection because the protocol is plain text. here check this out.

Have you looked through your running applications? There are remote desktop applications out there where a user can install a little non-virus application on your computer then is able to log in and manipulate your screen as if it was on his own desktop. They aren't intentionally malicious and most have install/uninstall applications.

It's also possible that your friend is formatting text to make it appear like it's your name then sending it along with his own message to appear like it's you, when it's really him. I can show you an example quite easily.
