Movies with the best dialogue

I'm only familiar with Edmond, which was one of the most unwatchable things I have ever seen. And, I usually like William Macy as well as much of the cast.

As for comedy, I nominate Caddyshack and There's Something About Mary. I rewatched Mary yesterday; I had forgotten how amusing the dialogue was.

I saw Edmond's debut, and it was good despite a bit of cliche. Haven't seen the movie.

For comedy, we have to reach back to Woody Allen. His old stuff was incredibly clever.

Another Mamet movie with great dialogue is "House of Games".

Probably not the most popular movie but I think it is really under-rated, as it does start slowly. I loved it.

Vito had the control and ability to think ahead that Sonny didn't, and so did Duvall. Fredo was all over the weak, and Sonny, for all his bluster, had plenty of weak in him too.

definitely, duvall wasn't "weak". he was considered "non-muscle".
he was the consilliari (sp?) which is just counsel. The Turk knew that.

Yep. Tom wasn't weak. He was pragmatic. Turk theorized that the pragmatic one would calm down Sonny in the interest of maintaining an income stream.
