Re: Scott Boras wants 9-game World Series

[ QUOTE ] A 5-game sweep would mean only 1 home game for one of the teams. Wouldn't work. [/ QUOTE ] Wouldn't they do something like 3h-3a-1h-1a-1h? [/ QUOTE ] They would except that's not at all what was proposed and stated in the first post in this thread. |

[/ QUOTE ] From the OP: ...open with two games at a neutral site. ...After that, the Series would pick up the 2-3-2 format that's been used since 1925. So two games in Miami (for example). A big party to go with it. Then two at Yankee Stadium, three in San Diego and games 8 & 9 back at Yankee Stadium (heaven forbid). |

Re: Scott Boras wants 9-game World Series
Dan Patrick: With the first nine months of the Baseketball postseason out of the way, the playoff picture is starting to emerge.
Kenny Mayne: So, with last night's victory over Boston, next week the Milwaukee Beers must beat Indianapolis in order to advance to Charlotte. That's in an effort to reduce their magic number to three. Dan Patrick: Right, and then the Beers can advance to the National Eastern Division North to play Tampa. Kenny Mayne: So, if the Beers beat Detroit and Denver beats Atlanta in the American Southwestern Division East Northern, then Milwaukee goes to the Denslow Cup, unless Baltimore can upset Buffalo and Charlotte ties Toronto, then Oakland would play LA and Pittsburgh in a blind choice round robin. And if no clear winner emerges from all of this, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned. |

Re: Scott Boras wants 9-game World Series
Anyone with a brain can see 9-game world series is awful.
Seriously, if it comes down to the 7th game, and you lose, you're not the better team, get over it. |

Re: Scott Boras wants 9-game World Series
All I can say is that it's ridiculous how many post season games basketball has. Seriously, basketball is not a game where one bad bounce can determine the whole game, or where a starting pitcher matchup makes a huge difference. After 160 total combined points, it should be pretty easy to determine who the best team is.
As for the 9 game World Series plan, i think it's too long considering weather conditions. If anything, start the season earlier and try to have most of the early season games take place in warmer climates or domes to avoid the Cleveland snowouts of this season. |

Seriously, if it comes down to the 7th game, and you lose, you're not the better team, get over it. [/ QUOTE ] There's a reason baseball plays 162 games in the regular season. Not because it's mind-numbing, but because baseball teams are so even that it takes a while for their differences in talent to emerge. (Also, more money). |
